FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions: Help

1. Download doesn't work :

  • 404 Not Found: Most likely, the server is donwn at the moment and you should try again later. If it still doesn't work, it is an incorrect link and you can report that to octrailers@gmail.com
  • 403 Forbidden: Download not allowed.
  • Cannot Find Server or DNS Error: Your connection cannot reach the file's server. Try again later, if you continue to recieve the error, there's no way to download except by going through a proxy connection.

2. What is this "zip" file and how do I open it?

  • A zip file is a compressed file. To uncompress/open the video file inside, you must have unzip software. Most microsoft windows has it already installed, just right mouse click the file and choose open with -> compressed zip folders. You can also download and install unzip software here: WinZip. Although WinZip says it will only work for a number of days, you are still able to use the software after it expires, you'll just get a pop-up every time the software is used.

    • 3. The video/audio doesn't work or it stutters :

    • WMV is Windows Media Video. MOV is Quicktime. AVI is XVid. For WMV, you must have Windows Media Player 9.0 or later installed. To play Quicktime video, you must have Quicktime 6.0 or later installed. For AVI video, you must have the XVid Codec installed.
    • Check the speakers or volume on your system.
    • There may not be enough memory, close any other open windows/programs or restart your computer.

    4. How do I register for the Tagboard?

    • For a visual tutorial, check here: Tagboard Registration If you're a regular user of the tagboard, it's a good idea to register. Because you get your own username/password, no one can impersonate you or take your name. You will have to login to use your name each time. To use the tagboard on both the main site and forum, you must login to both tagboards separately.

    5. How do I get my own fan gallery hosted by OC Trailers (OC-T)?

    • Directions and rules are here: Get My Gallery Yes, you can use it as a personal/private gallery as well, as long as at least 1 album is public.

    6. Can I change my gallery layout?

    • Yes. There are 2 options. You can send a banner and 3 color choices to octrailers@gmail.com requesting the change. Or you can reqeuest to change the layout yourself, e-mail octrailers@gmail.com, but you must have knowledge of css, html, and ftp software.
